Resistance Climbing
In the strife-torn hills of Palestine, a diverse crew of Bedouins, activists and urban professionals embraces climbing as a much-needed respite from the burdens of the Israeli occupation. American writer & climber Andrew Bisharat visits the West Bank to explore his own roots and the power of climbing to transform lives.

Andrew Bisharat is a long-time rock climber and writer who has been covering adventure sports for Outside Magazine, National Geographic, the New York Times, Climbing magazine, and other publications for over two decades. He publishes the climbing website Evening Sends, and is a co-host of the climbing podcast The RunOut. He lives in western Colorado with his wife and two daughters.

Tim Bruns is a producer of and subject in the new film “Resistance Climbing” about the rock climbing community in the West Bank. Tim spent many years living in Palestine and helping to establish the climbing community there. Tim is a co-founder of Wadi Climbing, the first climbing gym in Palestine, and an author of the Climbing Palestine guidebook. He currently resides in Colorado.
