Haute couture designer Jamal Taslaq was born in 1970 in Nablus where osmosis and the coexistence of cultures and religions are part of the tradition. Still very young, at the age of 10, he discovered the world of haute couture by accompanying his mother to an atelier near his birthplace. Here he is captivated by the magic of creation, observing simple fabrics transform into wedding and ceremony dresses. He is fascinated by the workmanship and the preciousness of the handmade embroideries that soften and embellish the fabrics by harmoniously following the lines of the body making it more graceful and feminine.

At the age of 19 he decides to follow his passion and chooses Italy, recognizing it as the cradle of high fashion and the home of a millenary culture rooted in beauty and craftsmanship. For 10 years he studied and gained experience by personally learning haute couture techniques and absorbing the Renaissance and Baroque style and culture of Florence and Rome. In July 1999 he opened his personal atelier in via Veneto in the heart of Fellini's Dolce Vita, while in 2000 he began his adventure in the world of Haute Couture on the AltaRoma catwalks together with the most acclaimed designers of the moment such as Raffaella Curiel, Fausto Sarli, Elie Saab, Furstenberg, Renato Balestra and Zuhair Murad.
