The program begins at 12:00 PM US EST; 18:00 Europe; 19:00 Palestine; 17:00 UK.
Join us for a comprehensive review of this year’s media coverage of the Palestine Museum US. This event will delve into the complex relationship between mainstream media and public perception, particularly how media narratives can influence opinions and incite conflict.
The discussion will feature samples of coverage from a range of outlets, including both Palestine-friendly and those that express less favorable views. By examining diverse perspectives, we aim to highlight how media representations can either challenge or contribute to the normalization of violence and patterns of systemic oppression.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage with our analysis, considering questions such as: How does media framing affect the understanding of Palestinian identity and experiences? In what ways do specific narratives serve to justify or diminish the seriousness of violence and genocidal actions?
This gathering seeks to not only inform but also to foster critical dialogue surrounding the responsibilities of media in portraying marginalized communities and the impact of their narratives on societal attitudes and policies. Join us as we dissect the influence of media and strive for a deeper understanding of its role in shaping realities and injustices faced by Palestinian communities.
