Band BiographiesViolinist and composer Layale Chaker returns to Palestine Museum US for a pre-release concert featuring her debut album, Inner Rhyme. This album celebrates Arabic poetry, unveiling musical threads woven by the rhythmical cycles of the twelve classical Arabic poetic meters, the physical contour of verse, and the percussive potential of words. Chaker’s composition process aims to capture the shape and essence of epic testimonials on life, death, war and love that make the heart of Arabic poetry. Layale Chaker will be joined onstage by her ensemble, Sarafand, with cellist Jake Charkey, pianist Phillip Golub, bassist Nick Dunston, and percussionist Adam Maalouf. |
