This is the story of the quest by Fouad Sahyoun, a successful Montreal Palestinian businessman and town councilor, to reestablish himself in Haifa, the city of his birth. Fouad remembers Haifa as a jewel of Arab-Jewish-Christian multi-faith and multi-ethnic harmony, before his family joined the Palestinian exodus in 1948. By buying and renovating an old hotel that used to be in his wife’s family, Fouad’s dream is to help make a break in the wall of hostility that exists between Israelis and Palestinians.

The film screening will be followed by Q&As with Fouad Sahyoun and the film director Martin Duckworth.
