Join us live via Zoom this Sunday for a moderated conversation with two Palestinian writers. Prominent Palestinian writers will discuss and read from their recent or upcoming works. This will be followed by a moderated discussion and Q&As.

Nancy Kricorian
Nancy is a New York-based writer and activist. She is the author of the novels Zabelle, Dreams of Bread and Fire, and All The Light There Was. Her poetry and essays have been widely published in literary journals and online magazines, and her fiction has been translated into Arabic, Eastern Armenian, Danish, Dutch, French, Hebrew, German, and Turkish. She has taught at Barnard, Columbia, New York University, Rutgers, and Yale, as well as in the New York City Public Schools and at the Palestine Writing Workshop. She is currently working on a novel set in an Armenian neighborhood of Beirut during the Lebanese Civil War.

Hala Alyan
Hala is a Palestinian American writer and clinical psychologist whose work has appeared in The New York Times, Guernica and elsewhere. Her poetry collections have won the Arab American Book Award and the Crab Orchard Series. Her debut novel, SALT HOUSES, was published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in 2017, and was the winner of the Arab American Book Award and the Dayton Literary Peace Prize. Her newest poetry collection, THE TWENTY-NINTH YEAR, was recently published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.
Zaina Arafat
Zaina is a Palestinian-American writer and the author of the novel, You Exist Too Much, an Indie Next Pick for June. Her stories and essays have appeared in publications including Granta, The New York Times, The Believer, Virginia Quarterly Review, VICE, BuzzFeed, The Atlantic and NPR. She holds an MFA from Iowa and was awarded the 2018 Arab Women/Migrants from the Middle East fellowship from Jack Jones Literary Arts. She currently lives in Brooklyn.
